9th CD Single: Mighty Long Fall/Decision

Mighty Long Fall/Decision is the 9th CD single released by ONE OK ROCK, issued on July 30, 2014 through A-Sketch. It was the band’s second consecutive double A-side single and marked a turning point in their creative approach.

Having previously tailored their sound for domestic live shows, the band began to feel a disconnect between their musical direction and their growing international presence. This realization led them to record abroad for the first time, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere, culture, and energy of overseas locations. Despite being recorded in the U.S., the songs maintain a distinctly ONE OK ROCK sound—something Taka described as a valuable outcome of this creative shift.

The single features Mighty Long Fall, the theme song for the movie Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, and Decision, which also appears in their documentary FOOL COOL ROCK! ONE OK ROCK DOCUMENTARY FILM. This release became their final physical CD single to date.

The single peaked at number 2 on the Oricon Weekly Chart and remained on the chart for 17 weeks.
