UVERworld is a Japanese rock band formed in 2000 in Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, and officially debuting in 2005 under Sony Music Japan. The group is led by vocalist Takuya∞, alongside guitarists Akira and Katsuya, bassist Nobuto, drummer Shintarō, and saxophonist/programmer Seika.
The band is known for their dynamic fusion of rock, pop, electronic, and R&B influences, as well as their adventurous use of programming and brass instrumentation. UVERworld gained major recognition with their single D-tecnoLife, which became the second opening theme for the anime Bleach in 2005, propelling them into mainstream success. Since then, they have released multiple chart-topping albums and singles, becoming a fixture in Japan’s modern rock landscape.
Renowned for their high-energy concerts and deeply personal lyrics, UVERworld has cultivated a loyal fanbase called the “CREW.” Their ability to evolve across genres while maintaining an authentic emotional core has cemented their reputation as one of Japan’s leading contemporary rock acts.
