Issues was a genre-defying American band from Atlanta, Georgia, active from 2012 to the early 2020s, known for blending metalcore with R&B, pop, nu-metal, and electronic influences. They were fronted by Tyler Carter, whose smooth, soulful vocals contrasted with the band's heavy instrumentation, helping them stand out in the alternative scene.

Issues gained popularity with their 2014 self-titled debut album and continued their momentum with Headspace (2016) and Beautiful Oblivion (2019). Their signature sound combined aggressive breakdowns with melodic hooks, and they were often credited with pioneering the "nu-metalcore" subgenre.

In 2016, ONE OK ROCK joined Issues as a guest act on the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, performing together across more than 20 cities in the United States and Canada. This tour was a significant moment in ONE OK ROCK's American breakthrough and showcased the camaraderie and mutual respect between the two bands. While they have not released a studio collaboration, the tour reflected a strong musical and personal connection—particularly between Taka and Tyler Carter—highlighting a shared commitment to emotional intensity and boundary-pushing rock music.

Taka and Tyler Carter first met in summer 2014, when both were performing at the ONE OK ROCK at Warped Tour 2014. ONE OK ROCK appeared at the the Warped Tour kick‑off party in Los Angeles on April 1, 2014 and subsequently toured with the festival that season. Years later, Taka confirmed in an interview that he and Tyler met during the Warped Tour and bonded over music, which eventually led to Tyler's involvement on ONE OK ROCK's album 35xxxv.
