5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an Australian pop-rock/pop-punk band formed in Sydney in 2011. The lineup—Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin—started out by posting covers on YouTube before gaining massive international fame. They've released five studio albums, sold over 10 million albums and 2million concert tickets, and achieved approximately 7 billion streams worldwide.
The collaboration between 5 Seconds of Summer and ONE OK ROCK grew out of mutual admiration and a shared presence in overlapping music circles. In July 2016, ONE OK ROCK supported 5SOS on their U.S. Sounds Live Feels Live World Tour, which included a stop at Jiffy Lube Live in Virginia. This touring partnership laid the foundation for their later studio collaboration on the track Take What You Want from ONE OK ROCK's 2017 album Ambitions.
